Problem Bandages : Bandage Jobs that turned out to have problems. Rats can hate bandages, making it very difficult for us to create a successful bandage. Also, some vets will think a particular wound can't be bandaged, when in fact it can with some creativity and persistence. Use these photos below for examples of both what may be possible but what might cause problems. Some of these were necessary for the rat in a particular situation, but ended up causing problems that required changing the type. Some factors that need to be addressed to insure a good bandage include: Is the bandage too tight? Can the rat move somewhat? Is the rat severely depressed from the restriction? What does it take for a rat to be unable to escape? Is the rat able to pee and poo without contaminating the wound or the bandage?
